EVENTS RECEIVED FOR GRADING 2008-9

The grading season runs from 1st June 2008 to 31st May 2009.

This list will be continuously updated. Please keep watching it to ensure your events are in. Do not expect them to appear next day, though they sometimes will. If a congress has not appeared within two months, something may have gone astray and you should check with the organisers. Leagues do not usually report till the end of the season (probably May or June).

"R" in the list means Rapidplay, and its absence means Standard. Occasionally an event will be marked "SR" if it includes games of both sorts.

Congresses, and other one-off things like friendly matches, come first and are listed by date. Dates may be approximate. Leagues, and other long-term things like club championships, follow alphabetically. So far, they are few.

Bear in mind that no event can be graded unless it pays Game Fee or is submitted under a Regional Membership Scheme (see below). Most leagues and congresses pay Game Fee, and ECF Grand Prix events do so as a condition of inclusion in the circuit.
     A Regional Membership Scheme may require 100% Membership, or may pay Game Fee for non-Members, and events will be graded in the usual way. It is possible that, in certain Regional-Membership events, non-Members may play without payment of Game Fee. Such events will be marked RM. In these, Members (and all ECF Direct Members) will benefit from grading and others will not.

ECF Direct Members can submit their results direct, outside the Game-Fee scheme, for events not played in England. A form is available for this purpose: see the Grading page. Note that this service requires prior notice from the Member. The events involved are not listed below.
     For English events, results are not accepted from individual players. Results are provided by organisers, who send them in full or not at all.
